• Romans Alijevs is the Director of the Riga Classical Gymnasium (Rīgas Valsts Klasiskā ģimnāzija).

• Holds the degree of Doctor of Pedagogy (Dr. paed.).

• Author of the concept “School for the Creative” (Skola radošajiem).

• Under his leadership, the gymnasium has developed into a multicultural environment, uniting students of different nationalities — Latvians, Russians, Ukrainians, Jews, Poles, and others.

• The school implements two minority education programs as well as a general secondary program with a strong focus on mathematics, natural sciences, and the humanities.
