RIGA SYMPHONY 2016 – SUMMER STAGE 21.07-23.07
The program of the festival
1st day
12.00-13.00 Registration of participants (Hotel Radisson Blu Daugava, Reception Hall, Kuģu 24). Org-committee will check the correctness of the name and surname, as well as, the name of the song and whether our audio technicians have the instrumental music for contest. Additionally, each participant will be given “pass bracelet”, in order to enter festival events.
14.00-15.30 The opening ceremony (Hotel Radisson Blu Daugava, Open air stage, Kuģu 24). Opening concert, participants walk a balloon and flag parade. Participants take their own flags of their own country. Participants fill the sky of Riga with Summer Symphony balloon – to let all Riga know, that the festival has started! The speech of the representatives of Riga’s Council to greet all guests in Riga at Summer Symphony festival. Afterwards, open communication – participants can take pictures at photo corner, exchange their creative business cards, introduce their creative work to other participants.
15:00 Photo shoot (Jury, teachers and participants).
15:30-16:00 Organisational meeting of the group leaders.
16:00-17:00 Soundcheck in the same order a the contest will go (duration 1 min).
18.00-21.00 Contest World Hits – 1st level (The jury committee consists of two levels: 1. Jury PROFESSIONAL MUSICIANS; 2. Jury PROFESSIONAL PRODUSERS). The jury votes discreetly, discussions take place in the closed room. Contest will take place in Radisson Blu Daugava – hall Daugava.
Contest: nomination “Maestro songs”– Nomination devoted to the jubilee of the magnificent Latvian composer Raimonds Pauls, who have written hundreds of songs, which are loved worldwide. (The jury committee consists of two levels: 1. Jury PROFESSIONAL MUSICIANS; 2. Jury PROFESSIONAL PRODUSERS). The jury votes discreetly, discussions take place in the closed room. Contest will take place in Radisson Blu Daugava – hall Daugava.
21.00- 22.00 The round table with jury.
When the jury comes to the decision – the list with the final participants for the World Hit – 2nd level will be published on 22.07. at 10:00 in the Reception Hall of the Radisson Blu Daugava and on our website www.rigasymphony.lv (the jury will give greater points to the performers, who show the great vocal skills and interesting and remarkable performances on stage – dance, scenography, directing).
2nd day
Takes place on the island in Riga, where one of the largest and loudest stages in Riga are placed – Lucavsala.
15.00 Sound check will take place in a certain order – duration of the sound check 30 sec (those who have missed their turn, will perform without being able to try).
17.00 Contest World Hits – 2nd level (The jury committee consists of two levels: 1. Jury PROFESSIONAL MUSICIANS; 2. Jury PROFESSIONAL PRODUSERS). The jury votes openly – participants can see the jury’s assessment.
19.30-20.10 The performance of the popular group Open Kids (Kiev, Ukraine).
20.10-21.45 Children foam party.
3rd day
Takes place at the «Lido», the place which shows the most beautiful traditions and cuisine of Latvia.
12.00-14.00 The concert, performed by the participants of Summer Symphony 2016.
14.00- 15.00 Awards ceremony. The final grade for nomination World hit will consist of the sum of two grades received in level 1 and in level 2 (both days of the contest). The final grade in Nomination The song of Maestro Raimonds Pauls will consist of one grade.
20.00 Star concert and night disco “RETRO STARS”. Music hits of 70s, 80s, 90s – your childhood idol performances. The marathon of retro music for many hours to indulge ourselves into the most popular artist appearances. You expect an unforgettable atmosphere and favourite childhood music hits. Sing and dance the best loved songs of the all time! The participants of the “RETRO STARS”: “Arabesque”, “Eolika”, “Мираж”, “Ottawan”, “A-Europa”, “Ha-Ha”
