INTERNATIONAL FESTIVAL OF ART AND CREATIVITY
“SUMMER ART SYMPHONY “
20-22 AUGUST 2021

The festival “SUMMER ART SYMPHONY ” is a special event for the entire family with a participation for young artists from various corners of the world. It is a unique opportunity for communication and strengthening of international ties, exchange of experience and improvement of skills. We are in a search for new talents and give them an opportunity to develop, be seen and heard by producers, mentors and real professionals in their field in the world of art and show industry.

August 20 -22 a contest of young artists in all competitions and nominations ;  concerts in the squares of Riga and Jurmala based on prior application and desire with the competition repertoire at the participant’s discretion.

PARTICIPANTS

Soloists and groups in the age group between 4 and 18+, studying in the musical and art studios, choreography groups, creativity centres, fashion theatres, circus studios, musical schools, amateur groups may participate in the festival.

VOCAL COMPETITION

Participants – soloists, duos, trios, groups may apply in one or more nominations. Vocalists will perform a musical piece to a phonogram “-1”. Duration of performance up to 4 minutes. Back-up dancing is permitted during performance. In nominations, if popular songs are performed, personal touch and artistic approach is highly appreciated.

Members of the choirs in a composition from 13 people will prepare one piece, duration of which is up to 4 minutes. Use of live accompaniment, phonograms are permitted during performance.

Competition of CHOREOGRAPHY

Participants – soloists, duos, trios, groups may apply in one or more nominations. Duration of performance up to 4 minutes.

NOMINATIONS:

  • National choreography (dances of the world nations)
  • Stylized national dance (dance based on national choreography    with a use of various styles and genres, the musical material of which may be national music in various arrangements)
  • Classical choreography
  • Children’s dance (4-7 years)
  • Contemporary choreography (jazz, modern, contemporary, neo folk, modern plastic, step and other directions)
  • Pop dance (street dance, break dance, disco, hip hop, club dance, etc.)
  • Ballroom dance (dances in stage arrangements, based on the ball choreography elements)
  • Sports choreography (artistic, sports gymnastics, acrobatics, artistic types of sports – as performance)

Competition of INSTRUMENTAL MUSIC

Participants (soloist, duo, trio, quartet, quintet, ensembles up to 12 people, orchestras). Each participant and group may perform in several competition nominations. Age group of the groups will be determined based on the average age of participants.                           

Participants must prepare one or two different pieces, not exceeding the timing of performance:

SOLOISTS – UP TO 4 MIN; DUOS, TRIOS, ENSEMBLES – UP TO 6 MIN; ORCHESTRAS – UP TO 10 MIN

 Competition THEATRE OF FASHION

     Participants demonstrate author’s collection of clothes on a free subject. Duration of performance up to 5 minutes. Participants may apply one or more collections.

  UP TO 7 YEARS

  8-10 YEARS

 11-13 YEARS

  14-17 YEARS

 PROS 18 +

When filling out a questionnaire in the mandatory lines not applicable to the relevant competition, please write dash or 0 (where digits).

Competition VISUAL ART 

Participants – talented painters and photographers of any age.

The pieces made in any technique (formats A2, A3, A4) will be accepted in the nomination “Painting and Graphic Art”. If the artwork is larger than the specified size, participation is possible if the participant has his/her own stand, the rack on which the work will be displayed.

The pieces must comply with the required formats, have a rigid base. In the nomination “Art Photography”, works suitable for demonstration are accepted; the size is not more than 60×40 cm. One work is accepted from one participant in each nomination.

 The subject of the competition works in this nomination is “Summertime”

Information in the following strict sequence must be written on all works (on the opposite side):

  1. surname, name and age of the participant;
  2. name of the piece;
  3. contact phone number, e-mail address.

RATING AND AWARDING SYSTEM

Performance of participants is rated based on a 10-point system.

Places and awards will be assigned to participants in each nomination and age group, based on results of collected points, awarded by all members of the jury.

All participants will receive diplomas. Winners will be determined in each nomination and age category: the 1st place, 2nd place and 3rd place awarded with medals, and the Grand Prix in each competition – with cups.

If the points are equal, the jury has the right to award two or more participants the same place in each nomination and age category.

The GRAND PRIX is awarded to winners in all competitions.

The jury has the right not to award the GRAND PRIX title if the participants have not collected the maximum number of points.

The jury of the competition in agreement with the organizational committee may award special prizes to the participant of the festival for special achievements.

DECISIONS OF THE JURY ARE FINAL AND MAY NOT BE DISPUTED!!!

JURY

The international jury consists of producers, composers, leaders of creative groups and organizations, cultural and art specialists, designers, magazine editors, popular and famous representatives of the show industry and fashion.

RULES OF COMPETITION

In order to participate in the festival, the following actions must be taken:

  1. apply for the competition by filling out a participant’s questionnaire by 20.07.20xx;
  2. pay for participation in the competition by 25.07.20xx
  3. send a musical accompaniment of the planned performance by 25.07.20xx, if it was not possible when applying, to summerartsymphony@gmail.com

Phonograms

A phonogram must be submitted simultaneously with the questionnaire; it should not exceed 4 minutes for vocals and the time limit indicated for other categories. The phonograms exceeding the indicated time limit will not be accepted. You may also send the file itself or the link for downloading to e-mail address: summerartsymphony@gmail.com, indicating in the subject line the name of the participant, name of the song and for which competition and nomination you are applying.

Please note that in order to avoid force majeure, the phonogram must be with you at the competition, recorded on a flash memory device that does not contain other entries; the file must have the name SURNAME_NAME OF PARTICIPANT_NAME OF SONG_CATEGORY. Please take a responsible approach to recording phonograms for performances, check their quality.

Abbreviations used for the file name:

WH – world hit

F – folk song

LV- song by a Latvian composer

OS –  Author’s and original song

D – for dancers

M – for theatre of fashion

C – accompaniment of a circus performance (if you have your own music)

Technical requirements for the performance (a number of microphones, stands, props) must be agreed with the organizers when applying

BASIC RULES OF THE FESTIVAL

  • The festival is held for the participants from the age of 4 to 18+
  • The official language of the competition: Latvian, English
  • Participants come to the festival accompanied by their parents or a guardian, who are fully responsible for the behaviour of their participant.
  • The costs associated with the arrival and stay of participants must be paid by themselves .
  • The festival organizers may record video and take photographs during the festival, store, use and post recordings.
  • The competition will be broadcast live in all countries of the world.
  • A participant can participate in several competitions and nominations (with one performance in each) subject to payment, and submit an application for each nomination or competition separately.
  • The organizational committee may stop accepting applications before the deadline if the limit of participants in the nominations has been exhausted.
  • If the participant does not participate in the competition, the payment is not refundable.

                            Please indicate in the purpose of the payment – the name and surname of the participant, (age), for participation in the Summer Art Symphony festival and Nomination (VOCAL, CHOREOGRAPHY, INSTRUMENTAL MUSIC, CIRCUS ART, FASHION, MISS SUMMER, VISUAL ART).

Participants must pay the festival participation fee no later than by 07.25.20xx  for each nomination and each competition separately, with a detailed description of the purpose of payment for which competition or in one payment, indicating all nominations or competitions.
